Misa and the 40 lb. mark!

Isn't she pretty? She just arrived! I reached my 40 pound weight loss goal and she is my reward! The detail on this figure is very impressive! She was worth it!

If you are a fan of the anime Death Note, then you know who she is. If you don't know about Death Note, feel free to ask me and maybe I'll loan you the DVDs. ;)

Now I'm already looking ahead to the 50 pound mark! I'm down 42.3 right now. Wonder what I should get for myself for 50? Suggestions?

I'm very happy with my progress so far. I was hoping to reach 40 pounds lost by my 40th birthday, and I made it with time to spare! Yay!

Tomorrow is Weigh In Day

Tomorrow I weigh in at Jenny Craig. I'm hoping I will hit the 40 lbs. lost tomorrow, but even if I do not, I'm almost there, and will get there soon. I've been doing really well with the program, and I'm very happy with the results. Yes, it is slow going, but I don't mind if it means I win the war. Know what I mean?

Keep your fingers crossed for me!

Thankfully, it's Friday!

It's been a busy week! I went to Las Vegas and back within the span of  24 hours for a tradeshow event. I met with a couple of friends for  dinner (which was a lot of fun!). I finished and saw the final product  of a brochure I was designing. I designed a pocket folder (which is  not yet finished). I'm sure there was more to my week, but those are  some of the highlights.

One of the questions I had for the folks in twitter-land was regarding  design, and when is the ownership yours, versus another. For  example...say I design and create a brochure for a client. If the  client makes mild to moderately significant design changes, does that  mean it is no longer your design? The reason I am pondering this  subject is that I would like to maybe start entering some pieces I  have created in some award competitions (small ones, of course...I'm not ready for the big time!), but I am questioning ownership when changes are made to the design, and not by you. Maybe you "executed"  the changes and the initial design is yours, but it has now morphed  into something that is a hybrid. So what then?

Thoughts anyone?

Good morning!

Not much to say this morning, since I'm still waking up, but I wanted to write a bit.

I *love* the Wii Fit. I pre-ordered and have had it for a couple of weeks now. It's been a lot of fun. I think it will help me on my weight loss progress, not just for the aerobic activities, but the strength training. I can tell by doing the strength training and the yoga poses that I can use some improvement in this area.

I bought "The Host" yesterday. I was going to wait to read it but I finally broke down and bought it. I started reading a little bit of it (maybe 10 pages), but I'm already hooked in. I also saw the movie trailer for Twilight, and there is part of me that wants to see it, but there is also a part of me that doesn't want to change they way I have pictured it in my head. Especially with the new book coming out in a couple of months!

I should be picking up my new car today. My old car decided it was done after 11 years and 153+k miles. I guess I can't really complain, but I'm not looking forward to having a car payment. I did buy a nice black Toyota though. I'm also waiting for my new personalized plates...."KRONEKO" So if you see someone with that license plate, that's me!

My cats are trying to get me to go back to bed. Should I let them coerce me? I should be getting ready for work...

Stock...to buy or not to buy?

I have the option of buying pre-IPO stock. The thing is though, that I just applied for a business license for my own design company. I only expect be doing the freelance design on the side, but what if it takes off? I would much rather be working for myself than working for others.

I also notice that I am much more productive when I am home. I know some people are distracted by other things when they are working from home, but I find that I am interrupted less and I can focus more.

So It is hard to know what to do. I think I will probably end up getting it, but the new business has opened up an interesting set of possibilities for me to consider.

On top of THAT, I have a possibility of being considered for a new job in Austin. Would I want to live in Austin? Not sure, I've never been there. I am not really excited about the possibility of leaving CA, but if it is a really awesome opportunity, I will have to give it some serious consideration.

Ok, time to do some work now. 4 p.m. seems to be my hour that I tend to fade out. Only one more hour to go now! I can do this!
